Swimming Pool Leak Detection and Repair
We repair all types of leaks, in all style pools. We use electronic leak detection equipment, once it is set up we wave a wand in the pool, if we get near a leak, our equipment emits a sound. If the leak is near a return or a drain, it may require using dye to test for the leak.
The epoxies and resins we use to repair leaks, work best when the pool water is warm, so if you have a tiny whole it is best to first get the pool open and clear, and if possible wait till the warmer months to patch pool walls or liner.
How do you know if you have a pool leak? Most people are used to how often they need to add water due to normal evaporation. Most leaks, even very small ones will require adding water everyday, or every other day.
Leak diagnosis and detection are now more a science than the old days, thanks to new specialized tools, finding leaks are easier than ever before.
The first step is to find out if your leak is due to under ground plumbing, pool liner, or through pool walls. Installing winter plugs into all the plumbing, and leaving the pool off, will help to determine if your plumbing is the issue. If water continues do go down you know its probably a hole in the liner or a leak at the pool light.
