Pool Cover Installation – (978) 710-8667

safety cover installer MikeNeed a safety cover installer here in Massachusetts? I not only sell mesh and solid safety covers, but I install them even if you already purchased one elsewhere. Don’t look at our pricing though if you already bought one, or you might be a little sick (we charge less). However, when I can’t sell for less, and that is the case sometimes, I’ll send you to where you can buy them cheaper. I’m just happy to get the installation work.

For pricing information check out our reviews and pricing page or email with your pool shape, and length / width measurements (please do not guess). mike@poolservicema.com

I have developed some of my own tools for installing covers. Also, some deck types require new drill bits while some pool decks chip less with a dull drill bit.

We position winter  covers so they cover all edges evenly and then map out where to plant the deck anchors for a uniform fit. I really take my time to make sure you get a good fit, and that there is equal and uniform tension on all mounting springs. A good  installation with even pressure means your new safety cover wont be trying to pull it self apart, and can support snow loads with perfect synergy from all points.

Pool Cover Installation 101

It is not hard to install a new safety cover, with a little common sense and a good hammer drill it is easy to figure out. The pool covers come with installation instructions specific to your pool shape. Rectangle or square covers have a different procedure than free form (kidney shape, etc…) pools, so be sure to read instructions.

With regular cement decking you just drill a 3/4 hole and tap in the brass anchor housing. If you have patio pavers you should use aluminum poles, don’t just pop an anchor into a paver and expect your paver or brick to stay in place. Wood decking have special anchors and dirt areas have long stakes.

Some of your more difficult installations involve installing anchors into walls, dealing with waterfalls and other non removable items like: diving boards; pool slides; dive rocks; and spas.

No matter the anchor type or configuration, you simply layout the cover so it covers evenly, and install your anchors far enough away so you can stretch the springs for a good fit. Spring tension on new mesh covers should be about halfway. Just go around and inspect all the springs after you have it installed, make adjustments with sizing buckles as needed. Not a bad idea to have your installer come back for a final adjustment in a week or so.

Whats It Cost To Install A Safety Cover?

The majority of pool covers I install cost about $300.00. It takes me and a helper about 3-5 hours depending on your pool size. The drill bits I use cost $50.00 and I use a new one on most new installs. With labor, gas, insurance, and tool maintenance and replacement cost. This is as fair as I can be. And for that you get a guy whose been at it for over 20 years.

Larger pools, grid size, and obstructions drive up the price a little. I just got off the phone with someone yesterday who was told installation would cost $1000.00 bucks. Thats just crazy for a rectangle pool with nothing fancy.
